Langara Kentucky Bluegrass is a drought tolerant, early spring greening variety with exceptional summer density. It shows high resistance to all major turfgrass diseases, especially Brown Patch, Rust, and Necrotic Ring Spot.
America is the superior, drought resistant, shade tolerant dense Kentucky Bluegrass that sets the standard for performance. The superior performance is shown in that many a new cultivar have been developed to try and emulate it, but it continues to be top rated in the newest NTEP.
Armada (PSG 366) combines the spring and fall growth, high density, and shade tolerance of Compact America-type bluegrasses with quick germination and excellent rhizome formation. It has demonstrated excellent performance under a broad range of conditions from home lawns to golf fairways. It is highly recommended for those areas where Stem Rust during establishment has become an issue.
An A-LIST Approved Variety! Mercury Kentucky Bluegrass has the high shear strength needed for sports fields and sod production from its father, P-105, combined with the shade and drought tolerance from its Compact America-type mother. Fast germination and quick establishment makes it the perfect bluegrass for new stands or overseeding.
Blue Velvet is very dark green, dense, and fine leaved, with exceptional turf quality as demonstrated in the NTEP trials. It is an excellent summer performer under sever summer stress, and will persist indefinitely under demanding turfgrass conditions. Blue Velvet is a low growing cultivar that requires less frequent mowing than most other bluegrasses.
Granite is a dark green, wear tolerant Kentucky Bluegrass with excellent summer stress tolerance. It tolerates a low mowing height for high maintenance turf, but can also be used for lower maintenance regimes.
Quantum Leap is a compact midnight-type of Kentucky Bluegrass derived from a single apomictic plant from the cross of Midnight x Limousine. Quantum Leap offers the best qualities of both varieties including very dark green color and density, along with the aggressive growth of Limousine.
Touchdown Kentucky Bluegrass is an aggressive-type, well known for its deep rhizomes, wear resistance, and high sod strength. A standard for years it has now been documented to have deep root extension and high quality when maintained with reduced water under heat stress. Superior performance in the real world is why it continues to be a standard.
Bandera Texas x Kentucky Bluegrass hybrid is the newest advance combining the extensive rhizomes and heat and drought tolerance of Texas Bluegrass (Poa arachnifera) with the turf quality and density of Kentucky Bluegrass (poa pratensis). Bandera is the result of the innovative work of Dr. Jerry Pepin done in cooperation with Rutgers University.
Crest Kentucky Bluegrass was developed from a selection from an old turf area near Route 70 in New Jersey. It was tested under the experimental designation of RT70, obviously in honor of its venerable highway home. Crest seed was taken to the Pickseed USA Research Station and tested for seed production characteristics and turf quality.
